The South Carolina Lowcountry and Hilton Head Island has something for everyone. Yes, there are award winning Beaches, World Class Golf Courses and the RBC Heritage, plus fantastic Real Estate opportunities, but one of the most important reasons people want to own and live here is the Quality of Life and all of the different activities that the Hilton Head Island area has to offer. Plan to celebrate Beaufort South Carolina’s maritime heritage with a trip downtown to the 57th Annual Beaufort Water Festival! The 57th Annual Beaufort Water Festival will be held between July 14 and July 22, 2012. This event draws a crowd from far and near each year with activities and events for all ages. Come out and be a part of a Beaufort tradition.
This year’s opening ceremony takes place at 7 pm on July 13, with the Marine Corps band and a fireworks display after sundown. And then the fun begins! For the next eight days, the Beaufort Water Festival hosts a variety of sporting tournaments including the renowned Bed Race, Children’s Day, and the Kayak Dash for Trash. Of course, the nights on the water are memorable as well, and this year all the old favorites are back: the teen dance, the Lowcountry Supper, Concerts in the Park and the River Dance. A talent show, the Blessing of the Fleet, the Commodore’s Ball and a Parade of Boats are also planned.
The Beaufort Water Festival offers something for everyone and is a family friendly event. Vendors will be on hand throughout the event selling art, crafts, food, and commemorative merchandise.
