Making Hilton Head Plantation Beautiful

Recently as I was making my less than 5-minute drive to work, I passed a strange looking piece of equipment on the side of the road.  I stopped and talked to the guys from Estate Management Services, www.Ponds.org.  They were reinstalling the paddle wheels on each side of the pontoon type boat.  Once that was a completed, they would launch the boat into the lagoon and skim the algae or plants off the top of the water.  Just wonder if this would work in the Gulf to pick up the oil that is on the surface.  It couldn’t hurt.  The equipment was a Aquamarine- Aquatic Harvester, either a series 100 or Series 200.  Hilton Head Plantation has 88 separate lagoons in the 3711 acres of the community.  The lagoon system not only makes Hilton Head Plantation look good and offers great views for the homes which are on their banks, like 6 Reflection Cove Court and 12 Fiddlers Way.  They also provide recreational activities such as fishing and bid watching.  Hours can be spent watching the Blue Heron, Egret and Ospreys fish in these waters.  The lagoons also play a very important part in the run off water when it rains.
