Hilton Head Area Golf and Real Estate Hilton Head Island Style
Sunday, March 14, the SunNews.com reported Harbour Town Golf Links, which is the site of the 2010 Verizon Heritage of Golf, South Carolina’s only PGA tour stop, has been selected as the top golf course in the state by the South Carolina Golf course Rating Panel. The article reported that “the panel is made up of golf enthusiasts representing a diverse range of occupation, handicaps and backgrounds.” In addition to Harbour Town Golf Links being selected the top golf course; there were three other Hilton Head Area Lowcountry courses in the top seven. May River Golf Club at Palmetto Bluff was rated as No. 4, Hilton Head Island’s own Long Cove Club was rated as No. 6, and Secession Golf Club of Beaufort was No. 7.
In addition to being rated as the top golf course, Harbour Town, which is located in Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines Resort was ranked as the No. 2 golf resort in South Carolina with Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton being ranked as the third top golf resort. Hilton Head Island is abuzz with activity getting ready for the 42nd Heritage which will be played April 12-18. The Heritage has always been a very enjoyable tournament for the PGA players and their families as well as the tournament spectators.
Having lived in South Carolina all but the first year of my life, and living on and calling Hilton Head Island home since 1972, I can see why Harbour Town and the Island would be ranked so high in the State and Nation. This is truly a great place to visit for more reasons than just great golf. For those who get to call Hilton Head home, they really have a treat.
The real estate values on Hilton Head and throughout the Lowcountry offer some great deals. The 2010 prices are just about back to where they were in 2003. While you are down for the week long Heritage, it would be great if a day early in the week could be carved out so you could get with us and see for yourself the great real estate deals. If you plan to move here and if you have a contract in place on a home prior to April 30th, you may qualify for either an $8,000 or $6,500 federal tax credit on your 2010 taxes which you file in 2011. For details please give me a call. To see all of the real estate values the Hilton Head Island area has to offer, you are one click away when you go to one of my websites – www.CharlesSampson.com. Check it out and let us know what you think or if you have any questions about any of the properties you find.
Happy Spring and we hope to see you walking Harbour Town Golf Links during the Heritage of Golf!
