Symphony Under the Stars and Real Estate Hilton Head Island Style
For two nights in early April, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra entertained over 900 with music which ranged from Phantom of the Opera to “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” from Disney’s Song of the South. This year Symphony under the Stars was held under a very large tent on the grounds of Historic Honey Horn, site of the Coastal Discovery Museum. The patron’s in attendance all brought their own picnic dinner which ranged from fried chicken to beef tenderloin and everything in between. This year’s theme was “Go to the Movies” and the tunes were movie theme songs. A good number of the tables of 10 were decorated after their favorite movie. The South Pacific table won first place.
The Symphony raised about $14,000 by auctioning off “Pig Pulls” for up to 100 people. The “Pulls” are true Lowcountry Slow Cooked BBQ which is totally done by the Symphony Board members, staff, and friends.
The Symphony’s final concert of the 2009/2010 season is May 3, 2010. The next outdoor concert is May 15, 2010 and will be on the polo field in Rose Hill. There will also be an outdoor concert series held at Shelter Cove on Hilton Head Island. For more information visit the website at http://www.HHSO.orgor call 843-842-2055.
